Homework reinforces what is learned at school and instills good work habits.
Students and parents should expect regular homework Monday through Thursday. Homework will not be assigned on Friday, with the exception of math, so that students may spend time with family and friends. However, please keep in mind that projects will be assigned periodically that students will need to schedule their own time to work on at home.
Homework is written on the homework board at the end of every class period. It is the responsibility of the student to write down and keep track of their homework. If you forget or are absent, call a classmate or look at the class calendar. Homework on the calendar is color-coded by class.
6th Grade Language Arts - Blue
7th Grade Language Arts - Purple
8th Grade Language Arts - Red
7th Grade Math - Green
AVID - Yellow

Encourage your child to get the phone number of a classmate. That way, if your child doesn't understand the homework s/he can call a classmate for clarification (not for sharing answers).
